Importing locations into Maps. Now that Apple Maps offers features closer to those on Google Earth Pro, I'd like to import the locations I already have in the latter into Maps. There are several locations - particularly in Canada - that Maps searches don't yield, particularly when they involve specific lake or mountain names.

KML and GPX file formats were created by Google and Garmin, so they do not save onX customizations like colors, icons, and notes. Importing Markups (Waypoints, Routes, Lines Shapes, and Tracks) into onX Hunt. You can upload GPX and KML files under 4MB into your onX Hunt account using the Import feature in Web Map on your desktop or laptop computer.

GPX files. GPX is a geographic file format typically used to save track and route information. You can generate GPX files from online navigation apps. For example, you can use Maps to GPX based on Google maps directions or from AllTrails Apps for outdoor activities. Import the file. Import the file by selecting it on your computer using the Next, minimize the window and drag the .gpx file (from your desktop) into the "Get Started Now" box at the window that says "Upload a GPS file" (you may alternately browse to it). You will note that the file name is now in this window. 5. Choose your output type. You want "Google Maps" which is also the default in this window.
Adding a GPX file to a web map. GPX is not considered to be one of the easier formats to import into Google Maps and can face difficulties depending on the amount of data moved. Google Maps will convert the GPX file automatically to varying results, hence the mentioned difficulty, or you can choose to pre-convert the file yourself prior to the import.
